Currently Listening To: I Just Haven’t Met You Yet by Michael Bublé

Books read:

[sic] by Scott Kelly:
Needs some editing but overall very addicting. I loved this book.

Cirque Du Freak bk 1 by Darren Shane:
Some fun, light reading about vampires and other oddities. I plan to read the whole series. Hopefully before the end of the year.

The Man Who Loved Books Too Much by Allison Hoover Bartlett:
I don’t feel so insane about my book obsession. In fact, I’m pretty tamed compared to John Gilkey. None of my books are really worth much. I only have one book that is worth over $100… and I would guard that book with my life. I understand how Gilkey feels though. While I love and adore my book collection, I crave the rare and finest paper treasures that money can and sometimes cannot buy.For now though, on my poor man’s budget, i’ll take when I can get. If it wasn’t for my Study Abroad trip, all the money I saved for the last year probably go into a book I’ve been wanting for ages now which cost roughly $150. If I REALLY had the money, there’s a $2000 book that I have been drooling over ever since I laid my pretty eyes on. *sigh* I can see myself now, holding it, looking through the pages, letting only my close friends and family looking at it (Only once and under my supervision). Until I finally can obtain the book, (and i WILL own it someday), I’ll just stare fondly at it.

er… I lost track of what I was talking about. The Man Who Loved Books Too Much… good book 🙂

Out to the Movies:

It’s Complicated:
It really isn’t complicated. Good movie with lots of laughs and wonderful cast. Unfortunately I have the image of Alec Baldwin’s tushy permanently stuck in my head. I don’t think I’ll ever recover from that…

The Lovely Bones:
Depressing, psychedelic, and brutal yet fitting ending. I liked it 🙂

Legion:
Oh dear. Paul Bettany, I saw this movie because of you and frankly you were the best things about this movie. While I enjoyed Gabriel and the freaky kid with the knife; the other characters were so cliched, it hurt. It was not completely horrible, but I would rather watch it on home on a saturday night when there is nothing else on. As one wise man put it, “I was just waiting for the Sci-Fi* channel logo to appear at the corner.”

Tooth Fairy:
Silly film. The Rock Dwayne Johnson didn’t seem to put in effort in some of the scenes. Some good laughs, a good message, and some good characters. It’s a good ol’ family movie to watch. The random cameo of Seth MacFarlane as Ziggy made me giggle like a silly fangirl though…

Notes:
*Just for the record, the name SyFy is silly (in a bad way) and stupid. We are not pleased with the name change.

If there are any spelling or grammar errors in this post, I do not care. I’m tired and going to bed. Adieu!

It’s late and I can’t think of what else to write… Erm… Moved out of my apartment and my best friend moved to NC. Depressed but life has to go on. blarg.

So yea, that’s enough for tonight. Toodles

Harry Potter, Movies, and Cleaning

December 6, 2009 at 3:52 pm (Books, Movies & TV, Reading & Writing) (, , , , , )

Currently Listening To: That’s Amore by Dean Martin

Last night I decided I would re-read the whole Harry Potter series. I do not remember a lot of the details and I have not read the first 3 books since middle school. I only read the first two chapters so far, and I still love it. I’ll post updates of little things I see in the books and how far along I am.

At the VERY end of the year, I’ll post a list of all the books I’ve read along with all the movies I’ve seen in the theater. If I’m inspired enough, I’ll probably even rate them. (My goal is to review them, but I’m horrible at writing reviews.)

Speaking of movies, I just saw The Blind Side today. I’m not a huge football fan or a sports inspirational movie fan… That’s a lie, I’ve seen Air Bud and Angels in the Outfield a million times over. Still, I’m not a football fan. Anyways, the movie was actually really good. There was some giggles and tears and in the end you felt good.

Heehee… I told you I was not good with reviews.

For the rest of the day I have nothing majored planned. My day will be spent cleaning, doing dishes, laundry, and homework. OH! There will also be some packing involved. I’m moving soon and just want to get an early start. I’m hoping also to get started on a Road trip survival guide for my Gossamer website.

That’s about it! Toodles!

Dude, Where’s My Brain

November 19, 2009 at 1:27 am (Music, Rambling, Reading & Writing) (, , , )

I am officially half way done with Nanowrimo. My brain is going insane trying to complete it.

I just realized since no one reads this and it is just for me to rant, I can really just post whatever the hell I like. I really will not have anything bad, but whatever.

Seriously, my favorite song of all time. Shinedown happens to also be my favorite band of all time ❤

Thriller and Projects

Thriller
Thrillerfest (aka Thrill the World) was amazing. I did not get to go as a Pirate Zombie like I wanted. Did not have the money for a costume and even my regular clothes would not have worked. Went in pajamas instead! I was basically walking through down town in boxers with skulls on them and a tank top. It was both scary and exhilarating!

Here’s some random pictures:

Thrill The World 2009 - Our undead feet
Our bloody feet. We don’t like taking pictures of ourselves but we oh-so-very much love taking pics of our feet!

Thrill The World 2009 - Austin, Texas
A bunch of un-dead MJs

Thrill The World 2009 - Austin, Texas
I love this picture. Yes, it’s blurry. I think it adds to the creepiness.

My ALL time favorite photo:

Thrill The World 2009 - Banana
Yes, that is an Zombie Banana. He will eat you.

He’s also a short clip for Thriller Practice I would embed it, but for some reason it won’t let me from Flickr. Oh well, you can press the link if you really want to see it.

Projects
I’m officially quitting my Gossamer 365 project… until January 1st. I’ll start over, and hopefully get it right this time. Until then, I will be working on ideas and formats to post the things that happen when I have Gossamer. I’ll eventually have a post soon about Thrillerfest because I had GJ when I went there.

Nanowrimo has started! I’m at 1,389 words. Ugh, it’s been difficult and it has barely started! It doesn’t help that I have a lot of Creative Writing homework. I thought it wold be helpful but it’s just making me stressed. I’m writing a ghost story. It was going to be a funny, silly one with a slight twist of tragedy. Instead it’s been nothing but a series of horrible things. My main character was murdered when her apartment was set on fire. While a ghost, she makes friends with a guy who almost dies because of a tumor. They work together to figure out what happened the month before her murder, find a way to pay off Scott’s debt (The guy who had the tumor), and search for Murphy… but who is Murphy? (Dun Dun Duuuuuuun!) Yea, it’s lame but I like it.

I’ll be posting my paintings soon. They are not true artwork. I usually get canvases that are on sale and paint them in nice colors (usually) and paint on quotes I like.

I had other things to say but completely forgot so Toodles and Goodnight!

Thriller Girl

October 19, 2009 at 12:30 am (Shows & Events) (, , , , , )

I officially know how to do the Thriller Dance! I really wanted to take pictures and maybe get some video clips, but I was having WAY too much fun dancing. I was a little scared when they showed us the whole dance since I’m a VERY uncoordinated person. It turns out it’s actually really simple and fun-extreme.. My clumsy-ness makes certain moves very ungraceful but who cares?! Dancing zombies don’t need grace!

Anyways, it’s time for sleep. Before I go, I leave you with a clip from last years Thriller Dance event. Toodles!

Thriller!

October 18, 2009 at 11:30 am (Shows & Events) (, , )

Today is my first ever Thriller dance lesson! It’s for Austin’s world breaking zombie dance. Unfortunately, I won’t be here for the big event but I still want to take the lessons. I’ll hopefully have pictures and video clips from today’s lesson.

Yet another pointless blog

October 18, 2009 at 3:54 am (Site Related)

I thought it was about time to start another blog. One that has little to do with my Gossamer Travel’s project. While I know I’ll be discussing it, this is just something for me and my other projects. I’m still debating if I should start posting my essays and short stories. I’ll decide over time.

I’m defiantly going to show off my mad scrapbooking skills along with my paintings. My paintings are not anything special. Usually they are just quotes. I’m slowly getting the confidence to actually make objects. I tried making a wedding cake once but that turned out horribly. My idea was to have the words “Science + Art =” then have the cake. I’ve always believed baking is just one of many forms of science but you can eat your experiments (most of the time.) Anyways, I ended up painting over that and wrote a Billy Nye quote.

My other projects include Doctor Who collecting, Rare & Signed Books, and saving up to go to Mexico.

I would also like to share video clips! Hopefully the first one will be of my Thriller dance lesson.

Well that’s it for tonight.

Toodles!
